Book I Read This Week - This is Marketing by Seth Godin

A few months back,
I attended a Business Bootcamp class by Chris Do where he recommended this book to all the attendees. I immediately grabbed a copy from Amazon and delved into it.
"This is Marketing" is a comprehensive guide for anyone looking to build a successful marketing strategy.
Seth Godin, the author, is known for his famous works such as "Purple Cow" and "The Dip".
This book is a must-read for entrepreneurs, marketers, and anyone who wants to understand the psychology behind successful marketing. It provides a practical approach to building a marketing strategy that resonates with your target audience.
It’s an excellent read as it presents a fresh marketing approach that puts the needs and desires of customers at the forefront. (And I actually had to re-read the book)
It helped me understand that marketing is not about selling a product but about making a difference in the lives of people who use it.
It’s a fascinating read and worth checking out.
One of the key takeaways from the book for me was the concept of serving your smallest viable market.
Godin suggests that businesses should focus on serving the people who love what they do, rather than trying to appeal to everyone. By doing this, everyone including you can create products and services that resonate with their customers and build a loyal following.
I think this paragraph from the book sums it up in a nice way:
"Marketing is the generous act of helping someone solve a problem. Their problem. And if you can do that, consistently, reliably, and generously, they'll come to trust you. They'll tell their friends. They'll spread the word. They'll pay for the privilege of doing business with you, and they'll bring their tribe along."
That’ll be all for this letter, I highly recommend to check this book out if you are a creative, an entrepreneur or a marketer.
